Jackie Emerson

My approach is authentic, empowering, and supportive. 

I believe therapy is a place for individuals to be heard and seen for who they truly are without judgment or unrealistic expectations. 

My passion is helping children, adolescents and young adults with the tools to build healthy youth development skills. 

I use a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, strengths based approach, and solution focused therapy. 

Being a parent myself, has allowed me to gain perspective and insight in supporting other parents to navigate their child's mental health and development.

Jackie recently completed intensive training through Postpartum Support International in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and has a strong interest in supporting expecting and new mothers, as well as those navigating pregnancy loss.

Jackie completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from Rutgers University where she focused on clinical social work practice. 

She is a certified school social worker with several years working in schools providing school-based counseling to children and adolescents. In addition to working at A Work of Heart, Jackie is the School-Based Clinician contracted in a Bergen County school district. 

Jackie is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her understanding of working with kids, as well as experiences a mom of 3, have aided in her ability to support other children and families through a holistic and practical lens.
